This standalone collection is part of DUCK’s ADHD psychoeducation support. It also complements Adult ADHD, in Real Life, the guide to understanding ADHD, finding support and managing everyday life.
The animations introduce brain processes and research relevant to ADHD. Easy Read, More Detail and Technical Detail offer different depths of explanation.
How it was made
Ian is a mental health nurse with over 30 years’ experience. He directed the development of this collection, coordinated and reviewed the material, and made the final content decisions.
ChatGPT AI helped develop the wording, illustrations, animation, code and narration. Emma is a synthetic voice generated with Kokoro (bf_emma).
Using the collection
Choose a topic from the index, select a reading level, then play the animation. Previous and next video links follow the collection order. Playback, captions and reading text are included in the package; linked sources need an internet connection.
Information and updates
This is educational information, not individual assessment or treatment advice. Brain highlights and process illustrations are explanatory models. Supporting sources and model credits are provided with each animation.
Information can change over time. We endeavour to keep it up to date, but cannot guarantee that every detail remains current. This is an independent resource, not an NHS publication. Links do not imply endorsement.
Feedback and peer review
Feedback is welcome from people using the collection and from professionals. Ian particularly welcomes professional feedback to support peer review of the content. The collection has not undergone formal independent peer review.
